Description
A creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce perfect for pasta, spiralized zucchini, or roasted vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: pinch of cayenne for extra heat
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Once it’s bubbling, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant, making sure it doesn’t brown.
- Add the Cream and Spices: Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring as you go. Add the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and a dash of salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, letting the flavors meld for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Stir in the Parmesan: Lower the heat and slowly stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is silky and smooth. If you like it extra spicy, now’s the time to add a pinch of cayenne.
- Taste and Adjust: Give your sauce a taste. Adjust the salt or heat level to your liking. If it’s too thick, add a splash of milk or more cream to loosen it up.
- Serve Warm: Pour the Cajun Alfredo sauce over hot cooked pasta, spiralized zucchini, or roasted vegetables. Top with grilled shrimp, blackened chicken, or sliced beef sausage for a complete meal. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- For an additional kick, adjust cayenne pepper to taste.
