Description

Delicious prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella bites that are perfect for parties or as a tasty appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh mozzarella balls (drained and halved if large)
  • 12 slices prosciutto (high-quality)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano (or Italian seasoning)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil to prevent sticking.
  3. Lay out the prosciutto slices on a clean surface, separating them gently to avoid tearing.
  4. Prepare the mozzarella balls by draining any excess liquid; if they are larger than a bite, cut them in half.
  5. Place one mozzarella ball in the center of a prosciutto slice.
  6. Wrap the prosciutto around the mozzarella ball completely. Repeat with all mozzarella balls.
  7. Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper; stir for about 30 seconds to release the flavors.
  8. Brush or spoon the seasoned olive oil over each prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella ball.
  9. Arrange the wrapped balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until prosciutto is crispy and slightly golden.
  11. Allow the bites to cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil.
