Description
Delicious prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella bites that are perfect for parties or as a tasty appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz fresh mozzarella balls (drained and halved if large)
- 12 slices prosciutto (high-quality)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (extra virgin)
- 1 tsp dried oregano (or Italian seasoning)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even cooking.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil to prevent sticking.
- Lay out the prosciutto slices on a clean surface, separating them gently to avoid tearing.
- Prepare the mozzarella balls by draining any excess liquid; if they are larger than a bite, cut them in half.
- Place one mozzarella ball in the center of a prosciutto slice.
- Wrap the prosciutto around the mozzarella ball completely. Repeat with all mozzarella balls.
- Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper; stir for about 30 seconds to release the flavors.
- Brush or spoon the seasoned olive oil over each prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella ball.
- Arrange the wrapped balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until prosciutto is crispy and slightly golden.
- Allow the bites to cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil.
