Description

A quick and easy microwave baked potato topped with butter and seasoning.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large Russet potato
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (or olive oil)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (for topping)
  • to taste Salt and pepper (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the potato and dry it well. Use a fork to pierce the potato all over. Then rub oil over the outside.
  2. Place on a microwave-safe plate and cook for 4 ½ minutes. Then, carefully flip the potato using tongs. Microwave for another 3 ½ minutes.
  3. Check for doneness by poking the potato with a fork. It should easily reach the center of the potato. If not, microwave for another 1 minute until fork-tender.
  4. Carefully cut vertically down the center of the potato to open it. Fluff the inside with a fork and add your favorite toppings.

  • Microwave cooking times may vary based on the wattage of your microwave.
  • For added flavor, consider adding cheese, chives, or sour cream as toppings.
