Description
A delicious strawberry cobbler that is perfect for warm weather desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 0 cups granulated sugar (divided into two portions)
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 0 teaspoon salt
- 0 cups unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, ½ cup of sugar, and lemon juice. Let this sit for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the strawberries to macerate and release their juices.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you prepare the cobbler batter.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining ½ cup of sugar. Gradually whisk in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the strawberry mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Then, gently spoon the batter over the strawberries without stirring.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon on top, if using, and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Notes
- This cobbler can be served warm with ice cream for a delightful dessert.
- Edit to taste with additional spices if desired.
