- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries or chopped dried apricots (optional)
Instructions
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, nuts, and optional dried fruits.
- Chill the dough for 30–60 minutes (optional for best results).
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, do not skip the chilling step.
