Chili Frito Pie

Description

A delicious chili pie made with ground beef, tomatoes, and topped with Frito corn chips and cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 onion (diced)
  • 1 (15 oz. can) tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz. can) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 6 bags Frito Corn Chips (mini bags)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet until brown. Drain the excess grease.
  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, garlic salt, chili powder, cumin, pepper and beef broth.
  3. Heat uncovered for 3-5 minutes until the flavors are combined.
  4. Cut open the top of the Frito corn chips.
  5. Spoon the chili mixture into the bag and top with the shredded cheddar cheese. Enjoy!
